First Field Trip

Jackson went on his first field trip last week. He went to Spicer Orchards with his whole preschool class. He was very excited that his daddy got to come with him on the trip. They took a hayride out to the pumpkin patch to pick a pumpkin, picked an apple off the tree, had donuts and cider and played on some of the play equipment that they had. Jackson had a great time with his friends from school and a great dad with dad!

Cider Mill

We took a quick trip to the cider mill this week. Jackson has been looking forward to showing Aubrin how to feed the goats for weeks. When we got there the goats were hiding out in the field. Jackson was a bit disappointed, but we ate some yummy donuts to cheer him up. We hope the goats come back soon!!!!

Jackson and Aubrin Play with a Tiger....

We had a great weekend. Jackson and Aubrin got to play with a Tiger yesterday...not a real tiger, but Alex Avila, the catcher for the Detroit Tigers. As I have written before, Alex is one of Todd's old players. The kids got to go and meet up with Alex yesterday and get balls signed and spend a little bit of time with him. Jackson thought it was pretty great... I think daddy did too:) I had a great day at Spartan Stadium watching the Spartans beat Michigan yesterday. It's a tradition that my dad and I go every year. Today we are inside trying to keep dry and busy. Jackson and Aubrin have set up camp in the living room. Both kids think it's great to play in their tent with flashlights. Last few weeks...

Over the past couple of weeks we have been outside enjoying the beautiful weather. Jackson has been very busy out in the yard with Todd. Mowing, edging and blowing keeps Jackson very busy:) Last week we had our nephews Anthony and Andrew over to play golf. The boys had a ball working on their putting. Jackson is LOVING school. He is always very excited the night before and so excited to tell us all about when we get home from work. Jackson has made friends with the kids in his class and often comes home talking about them. Todd and I are more than thrilled that the transition from being home everyday with us this summer to preschool a couple mornings a week is going so smooth.
Aubrin is doing wonderful as well. Her new words are grandpa, papa and thank you. Aubrin loves being outside riding her little scooter and playing in the bouncy. She likes to dive down head first just like her big brother. Aubrin is very proud that she learned how to climb up the slide in the playroom and go down all by herself. She is a very indepentent little lady.
Jackson and Aubrin are starting to play very well together. Jackson has realized that he can teach Aubrin how to do things. He loves to show her how to play games, blow bubbles and just be silly.
We also have wonderful news to share~ Todd's brother Scott and his girlfriend Katie got engaged. We are so excited to welcome Katie into our family.
As fall is quickly approaching we hope that everyone is enjoying the cooler weather.

First Day of School

Today was Jackson's first day of preschool. He was up and ready to go with his backpack on at 8:00- about an hour early for school. Jackson was a bit shy when we first got there, but he warmed up quick. He did circle time and had to introduce himself to the other 17 kids in the class. He also played with play dough, painted, and had snack. Jackson is very excited to go back on Thursday. I got to go and stay with him today, but on Thursday he just gets dropped off for the morning all by himself!!!!

We had a great weekend. Erin was in town to celebrate our friend Sues baby shower. It was great to spend the weekend with her. Jackson was very excited that Papa Miller took him to the Tigers game. Jackson got to ride the merry go round, and run the bases after the game. He was very excited to get a high five from Paws.

Labor Day Weekend

We had such a great weekend with friends and family. On Friday night I had a chance to get together with a few friends and catch up. It was so nice to see all the girls. We had BBQ's with both Todd's family and mine. The kids get so excited when they get to see everyone. The weather was beautiful this weekend so we spent a lot of time outside playing. Aubrin loves to swing and blow bubbles, as well as eat the bubbles! Jackson played a lot of golf and rode his bike. Todd and I both head back to work on Tuesday. We both feel so lucky to have had the whole summer off to spend with the kids. Going back to work is difficult, but Michele and Kalynn are returning to watch the kids this year, so that makes it a bit easier to know that they will be in such great hands.
