Easter Week

The kids have both been so excited for Easter. The week before Easter they started to decorate the house for the "Easter Party" we were going to have. By Wednesday Jackson and Aubrin had decorated the house and organized games that should be played at the party. Jackson and Aubrin decided that our Easter party couldn't wait until Easter. They wanted to have it Wednesday night. So after dinner Jackson and Aubrin did a few dances that they practiced and sang a few songs. Jackson played the guitar and Aubrin sang- it was spectacular. We also played limbo-Jackson's game of choice. After the games we did a few family crafts. Wow, Jackson and Aubrin really know how to throw a party:)That night they decided to call grandma and grandpa Olenech and invite them over for another Easter party on Friday. We weren't going to see my mom and dad on Easter this year, so the kids thought this would be a great way to celebrate with them.On Friday evening grandma and grandpa came over. The kids hid foam eggs that they decorated for my mom and dad to find. It was more like my mom and dad following the kids while they showed them where they hid them. Then the kids opened their Easter baskets from my parents. Of course, always excited about the goodies they get from grandma and grandpa. After dinner we colored eggs. Jackson carefully put his eggs in the water and waited patiently, while Aubrin dropped hers in from color to color cracking most of them. After egg coloring Jackson got an extra surprise from grandma and grandpa...new golf clubs. These weren't an Easter present, but it seemed like a great time for them to give them to Jackson with spring coming. Jackson was more than thrilled when he opened them. He couldn't believe that he got his very own metal clubs!!!! On Easter we got up early! The kids were both so excited to see what the Easter Bunny left them in their baskets. They were both so excited to get all of their new gardening tools and wheels barrows. Then we went on a hunt through the house. Both were on a mission to find the eggs and find them quickly. After our hunt we had a yummy breakfast and then off to church. Church was so packed. It was nice to sit with the Campau's and be able to share part of the morning with them. Once we were home Jackson and Todd headed to the course to try out the new clubs. Later in the day we headed to Todd's parents house for a great day. It was so fun to have all of the cousins together to hunt for eggs in the backyard. Grandma color coded all of the eggs for each child. Jackson had to find baseball and basketball eggs and Aubrin had to find purple and pink swirled eggs. Aubrin stuck with Uncle Scott for the egg hunt and Jackson felt pretty confident he could find his on his own. Aubrin and Jackson were both excited to open their Easter baskets from grandma and papa. We had a yummy dinner and then celebrated Andrew and Anthony's birthday- it was a busy day!

When we got home everyone was tired from such a long day. We took baths, read books and all got a good night sleep.
