Cookies, cookies and more cookies

This past weekend we had annual cookie day at the Miller's. Kaye always prepares a memorable day for the kids. She has dough already made for the kids, every kind of decoration you can think of and patience's of a saint. All of the kids gather around the island in the kitchen and some roll the dough, some decorate and others just nibble on the sweet treats.  Everyone is usually covered in flour. It's always a treat to see what masterpieces come off the cookie sheets. Then we all get to pick what cookies we want to take home.

We also celebrated Caryn's birthday. When we were eating cake, Aubrin put her head down on the table and was very quiet. She said she was fine. When we got out to the car and she was buckled in her seat she started crying and said her throat her so bad she couldn't swallow. Needless to say, it was a very long night with a pretty sick little girl. We couldn't get into the doctors until the next day at 6:00pm. When I told her she couldn't go to school it sounded like I cut her arm off she was crying so hard. Aubrin slept pretty much the whole day and didn't eat because it hurt to swallow. Sure enough she had Strep. She does  not get sick very often, but when she does it's not a good sight. It was another long night, so we were hoping that her meds would kick in quick. The next morning she came running downstairs as if she was never sick. Yeah!!!! It took her a few days to get back into full swing, but it was a great improvement. Although thinking of her licking her fingers and then decorating cookies...oh no!!!! I sent out an e-mail to the family to let them know Aubrin was sick. Yep...so was Anthony, Andrew and Violet. We felt really bad, but it sounded like everyone got better fast just like Aubrin!

A few days later we had my mom and dad over for dinner and to decorate gingerbread men. I bought gingerbread men at Costco right after Halloween, so I was happy that it was finally time to decorate them. Jackson and Aubrin were excited to get those sweet treats back out. I think one piece of candy went on the gingerbread man and then one in their mouth, one on the gingerbread man, one in their mouth... They turned out really cute. It was nice to spend the evening together getting ready for the holidays.
