Every year I say we are going to go to Crossroads Village/Huckleberry Railroad for either Halloween or Christmas and every year it passes me right by. This year my friend Ellen had her act together and ordered tickets a month in advance for a group of us to go. Of course the day that we went was the first snow/ice storm of the year. We knew it would be a long drive to Flint, but we took it slow and all 20 of us made it there safely!
Crossroads Village is a much smaller version of Green Field Village. As soon as we got there we watched a short Christmas play. Jackson was not thrilled since he just went to see the Nutcracker on a field trip with his class and was concerned that it was going to be that long:) It was a quick 20 minute play that was...cute. If nothing else, we got to warm up for a few minutes. Then we set off to find Santa. The line went fast. The kids sat on his lap and both very confidently told him what they wanted for Christmas when asked~ Jackson: An X Box and Aubrin: A Loom. After visiting Santa it was our scheduled time to get on the train. The train was very festive playing Christmas music while taking a ride through the forest to see all of the different light displays.
Then we made our way over to find Santa's reindeer- They must of been very tired because they were fast asleep and didn't seem to mind all of the giggly kids getting their pictures taken with them.
After we walked around the village checking out all of the sites and beautiful light.
We headed back home with a long and careful drive. So glad that we finally found the time to visit this great place.
