Our Disney Trip- Day 1

We have been planning this Disney trip for a long time and it seemed like the day would never arrive. Aubrin was so excited as she counted down the days to turn five, but that also meant that her birthday trip was right around the corner. From the day we got back from Jackson's 5th birthday trip, she often reminded Todd and I that she would love a trip too!
The day before our trip on Monday I was doing some errands and came home to find Todd laying on the couch. He said he had been vomiting....ugh!!!! Right away I quarantined him to the basement and he continued to get sick for the next 8 hours! The kids were sad because they thought Todd wasn't going to make it on the trip. We had been so busy that I didn't even start packing for our trip until Monday morning- for all four of us. So I decided I was just going to pack the best I could and whatever I forgot to bring we would survive without.
Tuesday morning we all woke up at 5:15am. I went down to the basement and Todd said he was doing much better-yeah!!!! So we got dressed loaded up the van and drove to my parents. My dad was waiting for us to drop us off at the airport.
The kids were so excited to be using their suitcases that Santa brought them for our trip.  They felt pretty proud pulling them through the airport. Todd still was not 100%, but he was keeping up with two excited kids. The flight was pretty good. It was smooth and event less, which is always great when flying with two babes.
The Mickey Magical Express dropped us off at our resort. It was beautiful! We did a lot of research as to what resort would be best for our family and Caribbean Beach Resort was the spot. Our bags were not delivered yet, but I packed our bathing suits in my carry-on. We were off to have lunch and to the pool! The area where we ate at our hotel was great. It felt like we were outside with all of the lanterns hanging. The kids had a huge selection for their meals.
The pool area was great. It had an area for smaller babes and a larger pool with two water slides.
After swimming we headed to Downtown Disney for yummy treats. We shopped a bit (I lost my sunglasses as soon as we got to Florida and needed a new pair), had ice cream (for dinner) and watched a show.  After seeing the sights we headed back to our hotel. We headed down to the pool for a night time swim, then headed up to our room so we could get rested up before our big day at the Magic Kingdom!
